The remaining four baseball games against Cuban Federation teams, Mayabeque Huracanes, Pinar del Rio Vegueros, Cienfuegos Elefantes and Los Industriales, have been cancelled out of respect for Cuba’s national mourning period for former President Fidel Castro. The mourning period began yesterday (Nov. 26) and will be observed until Castro’s state funeral Dec. 4.

The Rice University baseball team will continue educational and cultural events. Today, the team and travel party are going on a daylong tour. We will post an update this evening.
