Greetings from the capital of Louisiana and the home of Rice Baseball’s hopes for a continuation to a dramatic closing surge to the 2017 baseball campaign.

With the Owls making a repeat regional appearance in the same road location for first time in school history, the travel plans mirrored the journey east in 2016, save for one very important development.  Unlike last year’s parade of auto accidents that sent the Owls’ bus on a semi-cross-country route to maintain some sense of timing, the 2017 trip was thankfully uneventful and the Owls arrived in Baton Rouge at approximately 10:35 p.m.

Thursday’s lineup includes a practice at Alex Box Stadium at 2 p.m., followed by a media session and coaches’ meeting, a familiar routine to the Owls that was thankfully extended by four remarkable performances at the Conference USA Tournament in Biloxi last weekend.

Back with more material tomorrow, but for now, it’s time to grab some rest while we can.
